Chun-Wei Chen

Graduate Student

Chun-Wei graduated from the National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan) with a B.S. in Biology, and received her Master's in Biochemical Sciences from National Taiwan University. After graduating, Chun-Wei worked as a research assistant at Institute of Biological Chemistry, Academia Sinica (Taiwan) in Dr. Wei Yuan Yang’s lab, focusing on organelle turnover regulation in autophagy by imaging. She also spent one year at UT Health San Antonio working with Dr. Bruce Nicholson and Dr. Nameer Kirma on exploring the role of gap junctions in the invasive processes of endometriosis. Chun-Wei joined the lab in 2021 with an interest in the coordination between mitochondria and microglia on synaptic plasticity. In leisure time, she enjoys outdoor activities and anything related to basketball.
